In this article, you will find the URLs of some useful Web sites. There are too many areas and too large a volume of information to really do justice to the matter, but we hope that these will get you started. We welcome your further recommendations.
One of the most convenient uses of Internet is for finding out the meaning of unfamiliar words. People who use the Internet can access on-line dictionary home pages, and find the meaning there.
Since dialing up to the IP server means you only have to pay local telephone costs, you may choose download the software directly into your PC. I use the Babylon translator, which is free software. This dictionary is fast and easy to use.
Babylon is a program that provides on-screen translation of English words and expressions and on-screen conversions of numbers, in all Windows applications. Pointing to a word in your text and clicking on the mouse button assigned to Babylon, will display either a full or small interface window. Installation may take up 4-5 MB, depending on what language you want to install into your PC.
On-line translation allows you to translate to any language, even if you donft have the dictionary downloaded and installed in your computer.
Babylon provides English-language translation into ten languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, German, French, Hebrew and now Chinese. Users can download the translator quickly and find translations, definitions, synonyms and phrases.
You may install several languages into your PC when you want to use them all in the dictionary. While there are only two major Asian languages, Chinese and Japanese, you may use it as an English dictionary, too.
For people like me, who easily forget other languages, the software been a great help for me, and has saved me the time I would have used to consult a paper dictionary.
The United States started on the road to become a networking society almost ten years ago. At that time, the Internet was not easy for ordinary people to use or even to have access to, but now much has changed and much of the information stored on the Internet can be found easily with search engines. In view of these recent rapid changes in Internet technology (IT) and the globalization it has brought about, IT Media Education has become one of our churchfs main concerns. We need to tackle this new information medium.
Media Education: Media Literacy sites are popular in the US, Canada, Australia, etc. and throughout the Internet. Here, I will just introduce some of the most user friendly sites:

Media Literacy On-Line Project http://interact.uoregon.edu/MediaLit/HomePage
Media Literacy On-Line Project is an Internet home page with links to many media literacy organizations and their web sites. The page has been created as a tool for educators, producers, students and parents; for information and resources related to the influence of media in the lives of children, youth and adults. This site is run by the College of Education - University of Oregon. There are a number of related documents in the on-line library which might be useful to check. This would be a good starting point for your research.
American Academy of Pediatrics http://www.aap.org/
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) dedicate their efforts and resources to the health, safety and well-being of infants, adolescents and young adults. The goals of the AAP include advocacy for children and youth; access to health care; research and service to children; public education; professional education; and representation for pediatricians. There are good lists of brochures and statements on media, written by pediatricians, which can give us some good insights. There is still very little information from the doctors in Asia about Media and Children.
