Recommendations
Mission and the Church

That member churches coordinate and network their mission activities and programs within the Asian region.

That theological seminaries provide courses for the study of mission. The course curriculum may include case studies of Mission in Asia.

That member churches should initiate ways of entering into inter-faith dialogues within the region.

That the LWF be requested to prepare programs that would focus on issues such as Genetic engineering and biotechnology and the Christian response to them.

That the LWF initiate a study on the impact of modern technology and the problems of poverty and aging and their impact on mission and evangelism.

That the results of the above study be used to prepare programs to educate and assist member churches to discern an appropriate response to issues of genetic engineering and biotechnology in the context of mission.

That member churches be encouraged to affirm the Nairobi report and view mission as proclamation, service and advocacy for justice.

That member churches be encouraged to study the charismatic movement in the light of its impact on mission.

That member churches study the worship life of the church with a view to develop contextual worship that addresses and meets the needs of youth and women.
